Frequently asked

What is RELAY?+

RELAY is a career sprint platform that takes you from overlooked to undeniable — personalized weekly modules, daily checkpoints, live job listings, and BOLT, your career teammate guiding you from resume to negotiated offer.

How does RELAY build my personalized sprint plan?+

RELAY analyzes your uploaded resume, your selected career path, your target offer date, and your daily time commitment. It cross-references your current skills against the requirements of your target roles and builds a week-by-week plan that closes that gap in the time you have available.

How accurate is my sprint plan?+

Your plan is built on real market data for your specific role and location. The more accurately you complete your profile — resume, career path, city, and daily commitment — the more precise your plan becomes. BOLT also adjusts your recommendations as you progress through your sprint.

What's in the Resume Hub?+

Upload a PDF or DOCX, paste text, or build a resume from scratch with BOLT. The Resume Analyzer scores it against ATS rules and gives line-by-line fixes, and every finished version can be published to your Career Passport.

Which dashboard will I get?+

Your Stripe plan decides it. Student subscribers pick High School or College right after payment and land on that dashboard; Pro and Premium subscribers land on the Pro or Premium dashboard. You never have to choose a dashboard manually.

What's on the High School vs College Student dashboard?+

High School focuses on SAT/ACT prep, scholarships, early-career exploration and first-job readiness. College focuses on internships, career fairs, major-matched roles and full-time recruiting timelines.

How do internship and scholarship recommendations work?+

RELAY matches opportunities to your profile — school, stage, major, interests, location and target date — and refreshes them as your profile and progress change. Turn matches on or off in your notification settings.

Do I need a .edu email for the Student plan?+

College-aged students verify with a .edu email. You get access while verification is pending, so nothing blocks your first sprint.

Can I change my target city or date?+

Yes — open the dashboard, scroll to the profile card, and edit. Your job board and countdown update instantly.

When can I take my weekly quizzes?+

Any day of the week — on every plan. Each week's quiz opens at the start of that week and closes at the end of it.

What are Sprint Wins?+

Sprint Wins is RELAY's professional career community. Post offers, interviews, certifications, projects, advice or a free-form update with photos and links, then react, comment and follow other runners. Everything is moderated, and you can report anything that doesn't belong.

How do Sprint Buddies, Group Sprints and Group Chats work?+

Send a Sprint Buddy request from a profile or the RELAY Runners directory. Once accepted, you both see each other on the dashboard with the current week, weekly task completion %, and a shared recap feed for Wins · Focus · Encouragement. Group Sprints add a shared cohort with reflections and a Group Chat, and "Ask BOLT" is available inside the feed for on-demand coaching.

What is BOLT's Voice Assistant?+

BOLT can talk. Pick a voice in your settings, tap the microphone, and BOLT listens and answers out loud — powered by ElevenLabs. You can interrupt a reply at any time and the mic re-opens instantly, and your chosen voice persists across sessions.

What is Career Intelligence?+

Career Intelligence tracks roles, companies, hiring signals and salary ranges matched to your target title, location and timeline, and feeds the recommendations on your dashboard and in your weekly module.

What is the Sprint Store?+

Finishing tasks banks Sprint Points. Spend them in the Sprint Store on RELAY perks and unlocks — your balance and history live on your dashboard.

Who can see my Career Passport?+

You control every section. Public passports are visible to verified recruiters and hiring managers, RELAY admins, and you. Nothing is shared with recruiters unless you make your passport public.

Where does RELAY get its job listings and salary data?+

RELAY pulls live job listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, and other major platforms and filters them by your career path and location. Salary ranges are sourced from publicly available data, including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn Salary Insights for your specific role and city.

How does the Salary Negotiation Simulator work?+

Open Salary Negotiation from the sidebar, upload your offer letter (PDF, image, or text), and BOLT extracts your base pay, bonus, and equity — then flags strengths, risks, and leverage points. From there you can role-play the recruiter conversation, practice a counter, and get real-time feedback before the actual call.

What emails and notifications will RELAY send me?+

Weekly sprint reminders, streak nudges, congratulations on milestones, Group Sprint invitations, Group Chat and Sprint Buddy activity, Sprint Wins comments and reactions, new weekly modules, resume feedback, internship and scholarship matches, optional Career Passport views, and occasional platform announcements. Every category can be turned on or off individually in your notification settings.

Can I attach files, screenshots, or images in chat?+

Yes — BOLT chat, direct messages, and group chats all support attachments. Tap 📎 for any file, 🖼️ for a photo, or 🖥️ for a desktop screen-capture, or paste an image straight from your clipboard. Uploads are capped at 10MB per file and stored in a private, per-user bucket.

Where is my data stored?+

Your profile, sprint progress and resumes are stored securely in RELAY's backend and protected by per-user access rules. Resume text you submit is sent to the AI gateway only for analysis.

Who is the Student plan for?+

High school students and college students. Plans shown at signup depend on your age: 13–18 see Student, 19–24 see Student (with .edu verification), Pro and Premium, and 25+ see Pro and Premium.

What's the difference between Pro and Premium?+

Pro unlocks weekly quizzes, 3 career paths, path comparisons, and Group Sprints. Premium adds unlimited paths and daily refreshes, deeper Career Intelligence, exclusive mock interview quizzes, and live video chat with connections.

Do you offer annual pricing?+

Yes. Student is $60/year (saves $12/year). Pro is $120/year (saves $24 vs monthly). Premium is $250/year (saves $50 vs monthly).

Can I switch plans later?+

Yes. Change your plan in Settings and RELAY updates your subscription and your dashboard together — no re-onboarding required.

How do recruiters use RELAY?+

Recruiters onboard through their own link, add company details, subscribe, and get a Recruiter Dashboard where they can search and view public Career Passports only. They can't see private profile data or member activity.

What is RELAY Enterprise?+

Built for universities, career centers, corporations, and teams. Volume seats, admin dashboards, custom onboarding, and dedicated support. Contact sales for a quote.
